Another winter is quickly approaching and ready or not, the holiday season is underway. Thanksgiving has just passed and people’s thoughts are now turning towards Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa (which always seems to be sooner than we think), and whichever one it is that you celebrate will hopefully be a joyous one, but with the holiday season comes the much maligned worries over how to decorate your house, what to wear to your office cocktail party, what gift to give that special person, and overall, the best way to reflect the holiday spirit.
The key thing to remember during the holiday season is NOT to take on too much. I know this sounds difficult considering the millions of things you have to get done before the in-laws arrive expecting to see a winter wonderland filled with elegantly wrapped gifts and a gourmet meal exceptional enough to feed the president and first lady, but DON’T PANIC…because before you know it you’ll be bogged down in the smallest details, and stressing over trying to make everything perfect, which trust me, it won’t happen…unless of course you’re Martha Stewart.
So, before you embark on your journey into holiday bliss, remember what the holidays are all about…being with your friends and family, and being thankful for all that we have been given in this life, and if nothing else...remember to breathe, I’m sure even Martha has missed a few details.
Here are some holiday finds to make your season bright :
The Christmastini Cocktail
2 parts Amarula Cream Liqueur
1 Part Butterscotch Schnapps
A splash of Goldschlagger
A splash of Skyy Vanilla
A splash of Cream
Shake well and serve in a chilled martini glass. There are a couple of garnishes you can try with this: a cinnamon stick, candy cane and/or white chocolate shavings.
