With Spring just around the corner I'm sure I am not the only anticipating the change of seasons. This winter has been much colder than previous ones, and the snow was a treat but now only a memory. Wilmington is known for it's temperate climate and sunny days, but for now we just need to hold on and hope Spring arrives as scheduled. New growth, new life, the added optimism Spring bestows upon us through nature's beauty and blossom is priceless.
Here are some fun facts about this unique season:
-Did you know that there is a special name for the first day of Spring? The special name for the first day of Spring is called the Vernal Equinox and some will call it the Spring Equinox.
-Night and day are in perfect balance.
-It's days are close to 12 hours long.
-The added warmth of the Sun during spring feels good on the skin.
-There are different smells in the air during spring that those cold winter days can't offer.
-Spring brings a special feeling in the air.
-The special feeling is brought during Spring by the enchanting sounds of the birds singing on a beautiful Spring morning.
-The blue skies and warm Sun are beautiful and are important in the life of everything alive on Earth.
-The beauty of plants and flowers coming back to life is treasured.
-The trees that had lost all of their leaves for winter are now getting all the leaves back and will soon be in full bloom.
Don't forget to Spring forward on March 14th, the first day of Daylight Savings Time!
