Hi everyone!!
I hope you enjoyed your weekend and are now having a great week! It's halfway over!
This week we're doing something a little different! For those of you already on my Wednesdays With Wendy email list, you are going to receive the debut of my "Wednesdays With Wendy Newsletter!!" For those of you who aren't on "the list" and would like to be, please send me your name and email address to wendy@seacoastrealty.com and I'll make sure you start receiving the newsletter (I will also be posting a sign up form in the coming weeks)!!
For the time being...here's the information that was provided in the newsletter:
Today, I will be sharing some helpful information for your next trip to the Wilmington Area Beaches!
Wrightsville Beach -
It used to be you could only get to Wrightsville Beach by water. Today you can use the bridge, but the island retains its village-like feel and wonderful sense of remove from everyday cares.
A clean, uncluttered stretch of white sand and sparkling water just begs for swimming, sunbathing, beachcombing, and fishing.
The athletic at heart can take on the Loop, a fitness trail that circles the inner island. Bargain hunters gravitate to the beachside stores and distinctive, welcoming shopping village. Boaters launch from full-service marinas, and history buffs soak up the local museum and narrated scenic cruises along the Intracoastal Waterway that offer a glimpse into the island's past.
And clustered around the bridge are some of the finest seafood restaurants on the coast, along with vibrant nightspots. It's all enough to make visitors feel as if Wrightsville is still their own private getaway island.

Carolina Beach -
It's no accident Carolina Beach is situated on a spot of land called Pleasure Island. For many visitors, this timeless beach town exemplifies the classic summer playgrounds of years gone by.
It's all here: the fishing piers filled with kids and old-timers alike angling for their first big one. The boardwalk, perfect for evening strolls and ice cream cones. The arcades, as challenging and addictive as when you were a teenager. The gazebo, paddleboats and miniature golf. And of course the clean, uncrowded ribbon of beach by the warm ocean waters.
In addition to its nostalgic charm, Carolina Beach also boasts an active charter boat basin - home to offshore fishing excursions and nightly party cruises - a state park full of coastal vegetation (think Venus Flytrap!), fine locally owned restaurants, and shopping for everything from sunglasses to surfboards to area souvenirs.

Kure Beach -
Kure Beach is a little bit further down the beach, at the southern tip of Pleasure Island. A little bit more off the beaten track. And filled with a lot of what you’re hoping to find: expansive beaches, scenic views (you can see the ocean and the river), relaxed people enjoying a relaxing atmosphere, and the kind of character that seems to have all but disappeared from coastal towns.
There’s always plenty to do around here – you can cast a line from the 700-foot long fishing pier, or explore nearby Fort Fisher, the last stronghold of the Confederacy. Gaze in awe at the 200,000+ gallon saltwater tank at the handy aquarium, or hike along the 4-mile stretch of undeveloped beach in the state park. Shop for the latest beachwear and check out what’s in style at the surf shops. Even hop a ferry for a breathtaking view on a trip to the mainland.
But maybe the best thing about Kure Beach? There’s always plenty of nothing to do, as well.
