Wendy's Helpful Hint(s) of the week!!
This weeks tips (which are very random!) come from a website called getmytips.com. It is a site where people from all over the country write in about their favorite tips and tricks and the site posts them! Here are just some examples of tips and tricks on the site:
Grab the sleeve of your shirt (long sleeve or short sleeve) put your mouth over the sleeve (don't breathe through your nose) breathe into sleeve, then draw your breath back out again through your mouth. Notice that the breath drawn back is warm. Usually 2 to 3 breaths in and out will fix this problem. I'm 53 and have been doing this since I was 8....works every time...guaranteed

Leaving room for expansion, fill the plastic bag from an empty wine box with water and put it in your freezer. Makes a great reusable bag of ice for your cooler.

Potatoes Boil Over
When boiling potatoes add a small amount of butter and they won't boil over.

Where is the cheap gas?
When driving the interstate don’t stop for gas at exits with only one gas station.
Exits with multiple gas stations are forced by competition to keep their prices low.

Hey That’s My Bike!
Remove the handlebar grip of your child’s bicycle and place their photo with name in a small ziploc bag and slide it inside the handle and replace the grip. If the bike is stolen and recovered you can easily demonstrate proof of ownership.
Nancy P. Baton Rouge, LA USA
Lights out
When the electricity in my home went out for an extended period I brought in the solar lights from my front yard. I was able to light up every room in the house and didn’t have to worry about candle fires.
Joyce T. Tyler, TX USA
Keep your sheets together
To keep matching sheet sets together in the linen closet, instead of just folding and stacking them on a shelf, slide the flat sheet, fitted sheet, and one pillow case inside the other pillow case.
Kristi F. Columbus, OH USA
Paint stain remover
Fingernail polish remover will wipe paint stains off of quarter trim.
Dorothy S. Bagley, WI USA
Bee stings
Pull the stinger out with tweezers, and use a paste of baking soda over the sting.
Will stop the pain of a bee sting.

Reheat Pizza
Heat up leftover pizza in a non-stick skillet on top of the stove, set heat to med-low and heat till warm. This keeps the crust crispy. No soggy micro pizza. This was on the cooking channel and it really works.
Don P. Pinellas Park, FL USA
The magic of peroxide
Add a cup of peroxide instead of bleach to a load of whites in your laundry to whiten them. If there is blood on clothing, pour directly on the soiled spot. Let it sit for a minute, then rub it and rinse with cold water. Repeat if necessary.

Chalk The Line
Ants will not cross a chalk line. Draw a chalk line on the sidewalk and watch the frustration in their little brains. Why do you think they put a chalk line on the ground around the victim at a crime scene, just kidding!
